A water meter is an instrument for measuring water usage, and its material must meet the requirements of corrosion resistance, pressure resistance, and long-term use. Common water meter materials include brass, stainless steel, cast iron, and plastic. Among them, discarded brass water meters are a common type of non-ferrous metal waste. Its material is generally 60-70% copper-containing brass. In some cases, water meters are sold intact, and sometimes the dismantled water meter and water meter head are sold separately. The so-called "clean brass water meter" is a waste product sold separately after dismantling the pure copper dial. As shown in the figure below.
After disassembling the whole water meter, there are mainly two parts, the water meter shell and the water meter head. The completely disassembled clean brass water meter shell is almost free of any impurities, making it a high-quality brass scrap. Additionally, there are also individually packaged red brass water meter shells with a copper content of around 85%, which is a high-quality non-ferrous metal raw material.
