Air conditioner motors

Scrap Wiki

It is the motor that drives the cooling fan in air conditioners. The covers at both ends of this motor's casing are made of aluminum, whereas the middle part is made of iron. Generally, it contains around 15% copper and 5-6% aluminum. This type of air conditioner motor typically has a copper stator, although some have an aluminum stator; the rotor part, however, is mostly aluminum. When shipped, some come with blades and some without. Air conditioner motors without blades have about 5% more copper than those with blades. The manual processing cost for this type of scrap is approximately 70-100 USD per ton.
