Bright copper refers to the stripped purple copper wire from cables. It is clean, with no coating or plating on the surface, and no oxidation. In terms of purity, bright copper has almost no impurities, such as rubber. The copper content is above 99.99%. In terms of specifications, the diameter of the bright copper wire should be at least 16 AWG (about 1.29mm in diameter), and in most cases, it is made up of multiple strands of copper wire. The metal recycling rate of bright copper can be as high as 99% or above, with a minimum of 98% or above. Therefore, in the non-ferrous metal waste recycling industry, bright copper is a high-value recycled material, and its price is often close to that of electrolytic copper. Some high-quality bright copper prices can even reach or exceed that of electrolytic copper. It is usually used to refer to clean bare copper wire or clean copper pipes.
The main difference between bright copper and No. 1 copper is the cleanliness of the surface. When inspecting the goods, the surface of bright copper is shiny with a reddish-purple copper luster, while No. 1 copper appears dull.
