Scrap Wiki

Also known as rubber transformers, commonly referred to as ox-head transformers in the scrap industry. The copper content is slightly higher than 10%, and it contains current transformers, which have high value. The content of silicon steel sheets in rubber transformers is approximately 40%. The labor costs for dismantling and processing this type of scrap are very high, around 2000-3000 tons, and the rubber casing is difficult to remove. Such transformers can often be seen on many power poles. To determine the copper content in these transformers, one can judge by observing the thickness of the exposed copper joints.
