This type of scrap is generally the trimmings from circuit boards, with a copper content of around 10%. To identify, look at the color of the board; a dark inner layer indicates the presence of copper. The edge treatment of the boards is typically crushing, followed by smelting into copper bricks, or through a wet process for extracting gold plating. The thicker the circuit board, the better, as it indicates a higher internal copper content, such as the base plate of a computer motherboard. What type of circuit board commands a higher price? Those with chips, tantalum capacitors, gold fingers, or entire surfaces or edges with gold or silver plating. Circuit boards with a higher number of capacitors or coils tend to have a lower price.
