Router

Scrap Wiki

Most common routers come in plastic casings, with a small number being metal-cased. Metal-cased routers are often older models or used for industrial and commercial purposes. The circuit board content in plastic-cased routers is approximately 30%. Router waste is primarily processed through manual disassembly. After disassembly, the circuit boards can be treated through hydrometallurgy for precious metal extraction or pyrometallurgy for copper recovery. Newer models of routers contain chips and memory, which can be reused. Aluminum-cased routers have a higher value, exceeding 2,740 USD per ton; while plastic routers are priced above 2,200 to 2,350 USD per ton.
