AC adapter w/wire mixed

Scrap Wiki

AC power supplies, as a type of scrap, not only consist of wires but also a small circuit board inside. They also include magnetic transformers and copper coils. The greatest value of these AC power supplies lies in selecting those that can be reused, given that second-hand components can fetch a higher price. By comparison, dismantling them may yield lower value. The copper content in the pure wiring is approximately between 20%-30%, while the overall copper content in AC power supplies with chargers is around 12%-13%. AC power supplies with reuse value can fetch approximately 2,740 to 4,110 USD per ton; whereas those that are scrap might be worth around 1,370 USD per ton. The main processing methods for AC power supplies are copper granulation and shredding.
