Chips removed from computer hosts and sold as scrap are often outdated, lacking reuse value. These chips are directly crushed and then processed through hydrometallurgical extraction to recover gold and silver, or smelted using pyrometallurgical methods to produce copper ingots containing precious metals. The integrated circuits and pins within the chips contain gold and silver, and the circuit boards can yield large quantities of tin through the solder roasting process.
